Empowering yourself with a budget will allow you to no longer be controlled by the whims of compulsion and impulse. You may have initially thought of the idea of a budget to be constricting and limited, but the reality is that it will set you up to achieve your goals in a liberated, fun, and life-affirming way.
Budgeting Will Lead You to Greater Heights
When you are on a budget, your self-esteem goes up. You feel more in control of your life and as a consequence other areas of your life fall into place more easily. When you are out at night drinking, you know when to cut yourself off and instead of becoming sloppily drunk like your friends you are the one who is responsible. You more easily become a leader and example for your family and friends as someone who is determined, focused, and positive. More than anything else, you feel good that you are finally able to save some money because you know that one day you will be retired. At the same time, you still budget out some money to have fun in the present moment. This allows you to strike the perfect balance between enjoying life today and preparing for tomorrow.
Empower Yourself
To truly empower yourself with a budget, you must take two powerful steps. First, wipe the slate clean. Don’t think that other people owe you money. Yes, you may have lent them money that they never returned to you, but let God settle the debt with that person. Don’t let someone else’s failure or lack of character bring you down. Just forgive them and let it go. I know what the pain is like, but you simply have to move forward. Write down your thoughts, reflect, learn your lesson, and then move on. Absolutely do not forget what they did so as to not let the behavior repeat, but do yourself a favor and forgive them. This will set you free.
Second, create a budget for each area of your life. Break down expenses from every part of your life and figure out where you are spending too much. This will allow you to adjust your expenditures so that you not only save more money, but also so that you are also able to better enjoy life. You can still spend your money, just in a controlled and effective way. Also, focus on creating wealth by increasing your value as an employee, business owner, and/or consultant. If you have a website, optimize your online presence and create multiple streams of income for yourself.
