I was recently talking to a dear friend of mine, who is a great guy, and he said to me, “I follow a lot of experts and speakers, and no one is really talking about all the workplace bullying that’s out there. You’ve found a really powerful topic here to be talking about something that everyone else is staying quiet about.”
If you’re not aware, my colleague Daryl Woodhouse and I are doing a big event on January 25th called “How To End Bullying & Create A Workplace Culture & Bottom Line That Thrives“.
The event has generated a lot of interest and I’d like to thank everyone who is planning on being there.
This event is 100% aligned with my soul’s purpose, and I hope putting myself out there talking about a scary topic such as this will inspire others to step into their soul’s purpose. I feel that I’m meant to raise awareness about things like workplace bullying and the rising suicide rates – it’s the reason why I’m here on the planet.
Your purpose doesn’t have to be the most trendy topic. Your purpose doesn’t have to be something that brings you a ton of money. Your purpose doesn’t have to be what society tells you it has to be.
Your purpose is something you know deep down inside, in the core of your heart, soul, and psyche, that you’re meant to do. When you know you’re aligned with your purpose, you won’t need anyone’s permission to live it.
This event is so much bigger than a one-day free event that Daryl and I are doing. It’s really about creating psychologically safe spaces, being kind to one another, and living each precious day on this planet like it’s our last. It’s about boldly stepping into your purpose and making the impact you always knew you were meant to make.
This is embarrassing to admit, but putting myself out there like this is uncomfortable. It’s definitely not as easy as it looks, as I’m often caught up in self-doubt and saying all sorts of negative things to myself in the maze of my own mind.
But, the other day, a LinkedIn post from someone stopped me in my tracks. He shared how his friend died by suicide due to the severe workplace bullying he experienced. Reading this post broke my heart, and I realized that I need to push through all this self-doubt I’m experiencing and continue speaking about this incredibly difficult topic.
HR Acuity found in their research that workplace harassment and misconduct affect 52% of employees. That’s more than half of all employees, globally. This is an unthinkable number.
More than half of those affected by bullying have had more serious challenges related to being bullied – meaning bullying is the root cause of some unthinkable and tragic consequences.
If you’re ready for change, attend the event Daryl and I are co-hosting on January 25th. It could change your life.
